Mythopoetic creation implies spiritual imagination, a phenomenon of cosmic scale, connecting virtual individual experience to universal truth.

An Evolving Exploration …

Zen by Nature is an evolving exploration of the contribution of a practice field that co-creates in direct conversation with the Earth and our hands.

The industrialization of textiles and textile manufacturing, makes things easy, convenient, efficient, cheap, and plentiful. But it also takes something out of our hands — and proceeds on to make the textile industry a major human rights violator, extractor and polluter.
Second only to the oil industry.

Sustainably made textile items tell stories, hold resonance and create emotion coherence. They invite direct experience and have frequencies our bodies can read. In a world lived increasingly from the talking mind, our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual imbalance intensifies as our avenues for direct experience are reduced to primarily mental constructs.

Being a light unto yourself as Practice

Zen by Nature explores being a light unto yourself through studying the self in the quiet space of working with our hands and the earth — to explore ourselves and know who we really are, what we are a part of, and where we belong.

No idea, world view, or religious belief will survive the direct reality of facing our own minds with simple hand tools and natural elements that do not argue or fight back. They respond with absolute honestly and mirror our experience.

In quiet receptivity to our activity. Each and every one of us is invited to return to balance.

Upcoming: Sewing Buddha’s Robe

A weekly class on the Zen art of Nyoho-e. Through patient stitching, we explore presence, vow, and the quiet transmission of wisdom that lives in the work of our hands.
